WOW! Project is coming to Whitefish
Stumptown Art Studio is launching a new public art exhibit! Think back to
Moose on the Loose, The Great Bear Affair and The Rocksund Bridge Tiles.
Windows on Whitefish, aka "WOW", will be a permanent mosaic mural
to be displayed on the Latitude 48 Building in downtown Whitefish.
The murals will be four 6x9 foot windows designed to represent the four seasons of Whitefish and the variety of components that make it
a truly vibrant and one of a kind community.
This outdoor exhibit will be created by the public!

A series of community mosaic-making workshops will begin in January of 2012. Lead artist of the WOW project, Deb Stika,
mosaic aficionado and creator of the Project My Place art series, will teach these workshops. Thanks in part to a grant from the Montana Arts Council, these classes are being offered for a limited time only at the cost of $25 per workshop.

With these murals, Stumptown Art Studio hopes to inspire every person, business and association
in Whitefish and the Flathead Valley to participate. Call or email today to inquire about becoming a sponsor for the WOW project or to sign up for a workshop!

In each workshop, students will create their own mini mosaic mural while learning the necessary
skills and techniques needed to take part in the final community project.
Whitefish Middle School ACHIEVE students will constuct mini window frames for each individual’s mosaic class project. Participants will then be invited back at a later date to work on the actual Windows on Whitefish exhibit. All instructional workshops will be held at Stumptown Art Studio.
